College & Career

High school graduation is not the finish line. It is the starting point for lifelong learning and opportunity. More than 70% of jobs in Washington require education and training beyond high school. Highline prepares every student for the future they choose.

Students are prepared to complete post-secondary education, including:

  • 2-year community and technical colleges
  • Apprenticeships
  • 4-year colleges and universities
  • Trades and career training
  • Military

Planning for the future starts early. Even in elementary school, families can talk with students about careers, share their own experiences, and help students explore interests and strengths.

In middle and high school, students expand their opportunities by:

  • Engaging in High School & Beyond Planning to explore interests and skills
  • Enrolling in challenging courses to build academic skills
  • Building resilience by overcoming challenges
  • Seeking guidance from staff, family, and community members
