Day in the Life - Blended Model

Students at HVA will take four classes at a time. This allows students to focus on a subject in-depth as they work through material at their own pace. This also allows students to take a year-long course per semester. 

Below is a sample schedule a Highline Virtual Academy student may follow. Because the schedule is flexible, this is an example only. 

9:00 - 9:15 a.m.

Get Organized! 

Prepare for your day. Make sure you eat a good breakfast, check your messages and set a plan of what your want to accomplish. 

 

9:15-9:40 a.m.

Login for Advisory

Advisory is one of the classes with a set time. Check in with your teacher and fellow students to connect and see how everyone is doing. Talk about current events, learning plans, and look forward to career and college.

9:40-10:08 a.m.

independent work time

Work on school work independently, take a break if needed.

Consider using a timer to keep you on track and on schedule.

Social Studies

Analyze global current and historical events through geography, economics, history and civics lenses.

10:10 - 10:53 a.m.

Math

Get your math tools out and get ready to ADD math to your day.

Have lunch at home, in a local shop or at a park. Students at HVA have flexibility in their schedule and their location.

Learn to communicate through the arts. You can also participate in band and music at your neighborhood school.
